Black Diamond presents its mini film “Into The Route”
Black Diamond Equipment recently unveiled its mini-film on YouTube telling its story.
It all began in the late 1990s, when Dan and Janine Patitucci’s VW camper suddenly stopped in the supermarket parking lot in Indian Creek. The vehicle had broken down. While waiting to be towed, the couple went for a run: the snowy day was too beautiful not to be enjoyed, and the two decided-as usual-to put a hidden camera in their backpacks.
A few months later, an image from that morning would be published in a fairly famous catalog for the time, helping pay for RV repairs and inspiring a career focused on trail running photography.
Twenty years later, the couple is based in Interlaken, Switzerland, and living a life carefully designed not to be too different from the old days. The team’s commercial and editorial work has appeared worldwide for countless advertising campaigns, magazine articles and communications for leading outdoor brands.
Today with Into the Route you can get a sneak peek into the inner workings of the team, an odd little family in the mountains that travels a unique route and inspires others to seek out challenging experiences.
