Brandon Semenuk joins Team MIPS

MIPS (Multi-Directional Impact Protection System), a world leader in helmet protection technology, today announced the latest champion to join its team: Brandon Semenuk, the Canadian mountain biker specializing in freeride.

Semenuk is considered the world’s greatest mountain biker: three-time FMB World Tour gold medalist; three-time Red Bull Rampage winner; and five-time Red Bull Joyride winner. Brandon Semenuk is the second athlete to join Team MIPS; the first was Swedish freeskier Henrik Harlaut, one of the most accomplished skiers in X Games history, name announced along with the founding of Team MIPS in September 2020.

MIPS is the undisputed leader in helmet protection and safety, supporting athletes from around the world and spanning a wide range of sports including cycling, skiing, motorcycle/motorcross and more. Team MIPS‘ primary mission is to increase awareness of brain protection in the event of a head bump or impact and educate people toward safer helmet use. Its athletes, drawing from their own experiences, encourage all people to make the right decision when purchasing a helmet, regardless of age, skill level or preferred sport. Many of the participating athletes have experienced head trauma themselves or have worked closely with those who have had this experience.

“Mountain biking is my greatest passion, staying as connected to the sport as possible for as long as possible is crucial to me, which is why I fully understand the importance of having the best equipment. I believe MIPS is paving the way in this field by adding more and more safety in helmets, making its technology available to sport athletes around the world. I’ve known many people and even many of my close friends have suffered brain trauma during sports. That’s why I’ve always chosen a helmet with the MIPS system, which is why I’m so excited to join the team and help spread such an important message.”
