CADEX expands into Gravel and All-Road
The Giant Group brand presents new ultra-lightweight wheels and 40c tires that improve speed and safety on rough roads, gravel and challenging terrain.
CADEX’s new range of all-road and gravel components has finally arrived, including an ultra-lightweight composite WheelSystem and two tubeless tyre models. The new products also include a composite handlebar that guarantees millimetre precision even on the most difficult trails.
The centrepiece of the new range is the CADEX AR 35 WheelSystem: the wheels feature hookless carbon rims with an excellent stiffness-to-weight ratio. This system allows the wheel to achieve the same impact resistance as carbon wheels for MTB XC while maintaining superior lightness.
“At CADEX, we spend a ton of time riding gravel,” said Jeff Schneider, head of product and marketing for CADEX. “From big days on backroads here in California and mixed terrain adventures in Asia and Europe, to racing at events like the Belgian Waffle Ride, we knew there were aspects of the ride experience we could improve. So, over the past two-plus years, we’ve merged our real-world experiences with time in the test lab to develop a WheelSystem that we’re incredibly proud of.”
And it is precisely after these years of study and experimentation that the CADEX AR 35 WheelSystem can boast a high level of reactivity: the CADEX R3-C60 hub in fact features ultra-smooth ceramic bearings and the R-Drive ratchet freehub, a combination that allows the system to react in just a few milliseconds.
Schneider adds: “We’re most proud of our new hub and what it brings to gravel, we went to the drawing board to reengineer everything from the shell to the teeth to create something that’s ultra-responsive and optimizes power transfer. As we’ve been saying: Effort in. Speed out.”
