Elan Ski Cross team: a season full of successes

The Ski Cross World Cup season, with 16 races in 10 locations around the world, came to its exciting conclusion with the last two races held in Idre Fjäll, Sweden, last weekend.

Ending the season on a high note, Elan athletes again triumphed on the podium. Brittany Phelan took 1st place on Friday and 3rd place on Saturday, while Simone Deromedis took 2nd place on Saturday. Erik Mobärg also distinguished himself, taking 3rd place at home.

Throughout the season, Elan athletes had outstanding performances: 13 times in 1st place, 8 times in 2nd place and 9 times in 3rd place.

The results

This season has been monumental for the Schmidt family: Jared has won three times in a row; in Arosa, he and his sister Hannah made history, both making the podium on the same day, the first siblings to achieve this in Ski Cross! Despite being absent in the last few races due to injury, Hannah finished the season in 4th place.

Erik Mobärg celebrated his first World Cup victory in Alleghe and replicated the success in Reiteralm, ending the season in 5th place overall. Brittany Phelan also tasted victory for the first time, triumphing in Reiteralm. With 8 podium finishes during the season, she secured 3rd place in the overall cup standings. The Reiteralm race was full of unforgettable moments for our athletes. Melvin Tchiknavorian earned his first podium in a World Cup competition, taking 3rd place.

Blaž Lazar, Elan’s Head of Racing department, commented enthusiastically, “I am excited to reflect on the outstanding performances and extraordinary results of the 2023/24 season. Our athletes demonstrated skill, determination and passion, leaving an indelible mark on the slopes and in our hearts. Throughout the season, we celebrated victories, podium finishes and historic moments that solidified our team’s legacy in the Ski Cross world. Each success was a testament to the tireless dedication and talent of our extraordinary athletes. I am fully confident that together we will continue to reach new heights in the coming season, ready to conquer new challenges. These achievements make me proud to continue supporting the best athletes in Ski Cross. Thanks also to all the technicians and coaches for their fantastic work during the season.”
