Ferrino Base Camps to live the emotion of a true experience

Pian dei Fiacconi Refuge, Caldenave Refuge and Toesca Refuge are the locations chosen to experience a summer of outdoor activities, becoming Ferrino testers for a day.

Three locations have been chosen for the summer of 2021 for testing Ferrino tents, including those of the Highlab line: Toesca refuge (Susa Valley, Piedmont), Caldenave refuge (Lagorai, Trentino-Alto Adige), Pian dei Fiacconi refuge (Marmolada, Trentino-Alto Adige). Three extremely different environments where you can live completely different experiences but united by the sensations of a night under the stars, in the midst of nature. From the 1700 meters of the Toesca and Caldenave refuges to the more than 2700 meters of Pian dei Fiacconi. From the Piedmont forests to the alpine meadows of Trentino, up to the perennial ice of the Marmolada, for an experience in total safety, contributing to the development of the product. Ferrino camps are our “en plein air” laboratories
Whoever sleeps in our tents becomes a tester for a day, leaving us a feedback helps us to improve our range!

Experience the Marmolada in a tent

The Pian dei Fiacconi refuge, on the Trentino side of the Marmolada, was destroyed last December by an avalanche. “The refuge today is scattered around the Marmolada glacier,” explains manager Guido Trevisan. Impossible to reopen for the summer season. That’s when the idea of a tented camp was born. “Pian dei Fiacconi has always been a fundamental support point for mountaineers and excursionists in Marmolada”, the tented camp offers the opportunity to continue to be so. “The frequenters have welcomed the initiative with enthusiasm: they have a support point where they can stop, especially taking into account that the only other shelter left is the Marmolada Glacier Shelter that has very few beds”.

“Personally, I really like the idea of the tented camp, where no new permanent structures are built,” continues Trevisan. “Tourism in the mountains, in order not to become massified, must avoid large fixed infrastructures. In the periods of greatest affluence, using tents, as if we were in a base camp, is a beautiful solution that also allows us to experience the mountains in a more natural way.”
