From0to0 Mount Teide Edition: the feat of Andrea Lanfri

Andrea Lanfri achieved an extraordinary feat in completing his From0to0 adventure on Mount Teide, combining cycling and running on the highest volcano in Spain and the Atlantic Ocean, in a record time of only 15 hours.

The Tuscan Paralympic athlete, who lost both legs and seven fingers to meningitis with meningococcal sepsis in 2015, conquered the summit of Mount Teide using a combination of biking, running and walking. The route started from the coast of Puerto de la Cruz and ended on the coast of Guia de Isora, covering a distance of 105 kilometers and overcoming a positive elevation gain of 3975 meters. It was an exciting journey that took Lanfri from the sea to the mountains and then back to the sea, crossing a variety of climatic belts and providing one of the most striking natural spectacles in Europe.

It was a great experience, my first From0to0 in a foreign land! When I started, I never imagined that I would find such a wonderful environment” enthused Andrea.“All the efforts made during the climb were amply rewarded by the landscapes crossed, still unspoiled places that make you feel immersed in the wildest nature.”

Andrea Lanfri’s feat on Mount Teide represents an example of strength, determination and resilience, inspiring all who face challenges in their lives. His extraordinary success story proves that there are no impassable limits when you have the will to overcome them.
