Super-stylish, high-performance and sustainable freeride and freestyle bindings

K2 Edition test

Lightweight flex, park and powder as the terrain of choice: the Edition bindings are the K2 bindings that best suit those on snow who are not satisfied with canonical snowboarding and always want to do everything from off-piste to park. Fairly lightweight and moderately flexible, the Editions feature the perfect amount of both tweak and response, and best of all, a good percentage of the materials used to make them are environmentally responsible, with 40 percent of the energy used to produce them coming from renewable sources. I know what you’re thinking and no, the performance of these bindings is impeccable: the grip in fresh air is great and the cushioning on the structures is top notch. In trying them out, we didn’t miss a thing, and while on the track perhaps lacks the wow effect that comes with freeriding and freestyle, the experience is still top-of-the-line. We talked earlier about cushioning: here, it is perfect, we guarantee, and it is thanks to the EVA cushioning made made from sugar cane, which saves K2 about 90 percent of CO2 emissions per kg compared to traditional EVA. The AM1 spoiler, on the other hand, based on castor beans, provides a 40 percent per kg reduction in emissions compared to nylon. To make matters worse, they have a super attractive and cool design.
