Ski mountaineering skins made of 100% Mohair for ideal gliding even in cold temperatures

Kohla Alpinist Climbing Skin

The Alpinist are Kohla’s skins designed for the ski touring and free touring category. They are made of 100% Mohair, which ensures maximum performance even on the coldest days. Kohla Fiberseal technology makes them waterproof and completely prevents water absorption, but also makes them extremely durable and sturdy. They are sold with a width of 130 mm and must be cut to the profile of the ski where they are to be applied. Glue-wise, they are treated with Smart Glue, a state-of-the-art glue specially designed for low temperatures that offers excellent adhesion and makes them easy to apply and remove even on the most extreme days. We tried them on spring ski days and found that they hold up very well both on frozen snow in the early morning hours and when the snow warms up and gets wet. Alpinists have the right balance of friction and glide, and they dry quickly. Perfect for winter ski tours, however, they can be very versatile and accompany throughout the entire ski touring season from its beginning to the last firn skiing. The high-precision laser-cut finish allows for skins with perfect edges, and the K-Clip back attachment provides an excellent hold. Kohla Alpinist are also solvent-free, demonstrating the company’s interest in environmental sustainability.
