Mammut kicks off a more sustainable future

Swiss holding company Conzzeta has announced the full acquisition of Mammut by financial investor Telemos Capital. Mammut has found a strong new partner in Telemos, who will support the Swiss company in the development of its business model. Mammut will therefore continue to invest in innovative products, new sales channels and market growth.

With the signing of the agreement for the acquisition of Mammut by Telemos Conzzeta, the strategic transformation of the group has been completed. Subject to all necessary regulatory approvals, the full acquisition of Mammut Sports Group is expected to take place by mid-2021.

Telemos Capital is a European private equity investment firm with a Swiss background, driven by strong family values, entrepreneurial experience and a forward-looking partnership approach. The company was founded and is chaired by Philippe Jacobs, who is also co-chairman of Jacobs Holding AG, Zurich, Switzerland. The Telemos team is passionate about mountain sports and invests in a select number of private companies, focusing on the consumer, healthcare and business services sectors, across Europe.

Mammut has found a strong new partner in Telemos, who will help guide the Swiss company in the development of its business model. The focus is on the three areas of products, (digital) channels and market growth in new regions. Telemos has expressed a clear commitment to supporting Mammut’s strategy, and believes in the traditional values of the Swiss brand, founded in 1862. Telemos is well aware of the importance of the company’s Swiss heritage, and will therefore further emphasise Mammut’s strengths, expanding the brand’s already remarkable leadership position in digitalisation and sustainability. With the new owner, Mammut will therefore maintain its Swiss DNA and standards of excellence, accelerating its transformation, as always, with success.

Oliver Pabst, CEO of Mammut Sports Group, said: “I am very proud of our entire team and the path we have taken over the last few years. Today’s announcement is excellent news. Guided, as always, by our goal of “Creating a world moved by mountains’, we look forward to working with Telemos and our partners to continue to develop Mammut Swiss 1862’s role as a premium brand in both existing and new markets, impressing with sustainable, innovative and digital products.”

According to Philippe Jacobs, Executive Chairman of Telemos Capital: “Mammut, with its unique heritage and established brand, has achieved significant milestones in recent decades. We are excited about the new opportunities that will be realised through Mammut’s high-quality outdoor products and services.”
