Millet’s New #MountainTalk Appointments

Elia Origoni tells his story at the Millet stores in Bolzano and Turin

The appointment is for Thursday, Nov. 9 at 7 p.m. at Leonardo Da Vinci Street, 2F – Bolzano and for Thursday, Nov. 30 at 7 p.m. at Gramsci Street, 15 – Turin.

Kicking off the new Millet #MountainTalk events are preparing to welcome another special guest: Elia Origoni. An adventurer of the highlands, in addition to being a mid-mountain guide and a member of the mountain rescue team, in 2021 he authored the journey “In Solitaria,” crossing the Sentiero Italia, the longest trail in the world.

More than 7,200 km traveled strictly on foot, 350,000 meters of elevation gain and a 200-mile rowing boat crossing between Sardinia and Sicily.

It was an extraordinary zero-impact feat that saw Elijah experience the mountains and nature in a sustainable way, totally eliminating polluting and non-muscle-powered means of transportation and engaging in the collection of garbage abandoned along the way, raising everyone’s awareness of the desirability of approaching outdoor adventures with respect and awareness.

A commitment carved into Millet’s DNA and found in the Rising Change philosophy.

The French vertical brand, which has been committed to respecting the environment since its origins, aims to become a regenerative enterprise by 2030 through the establishment of 5 milestones: the production of durable products with the lowest environmental impact, the use of renewable resources, the use of a responsible production chain, human well-being and safety at the center of activities, and a commitment to reconnecting the community with nature.

“InSolitaria2021 – a journey at a walking pace, between seas and mountains on foot and by rowing boat along the Sentiero Italia using only the strength of the legs and arms”: this is the file rouge of the two events to be held at the Millet stores in Bolzano and Turin.

The events will be an opportunity to highlight the crucial issue of respecting and valuing the mountains by hearing firsthand accounts of an adventure that is as simple as it is intrepid, demonstrating that it really is possible to enjoy its beauty in an alternative and responsible way.

The Millet stores in Bolzano and Turin, which opened last year and were conceived as a place to connect with the community and offer services such as product repair or equipment rental, thus become the setting for a calendar of events signed #MountainTalk.
