Niccolo Colturi and the double victory in the European Cup

Niccolò Colturi, a young snowboarder from Valtellina, starts the year with two consecutive victories in the SnowboardCross European Cup in Reiteralm, Austria. Niccolò, who grew up in Bormio, began snowboarding as a child and has always had the support of his father, Pietro Colturi, the 1990 World Snowboard Champion. Niccolò sees the mountains of Bormio as his true home and finds balance between his sports career and his graduate studies in exercise science at Sacred Heart Catholic University. It has the ambition to participate in the Milan Cortina 2026 Olympics and is working hard to achieve this goal.

“My first time snowboarding was special-I was only a two-year-old child, but the feeling of freedom and adrenaline I experienced while sliding on snow in Bormio with my father I remember as if it were today.” Niccolò had also tried downhill skis before, but the spark of first love had gone out. “I had already tried skiing, but when I got on the board I immediately felt a different energy, an intense excitement that made me realize that that would become my destiny.”
