The new collection includes advanced clothing and equipment such as the Westalpen 3L line, Westalpen Light Pants, and the Westalpen Softshell line, which provide protection and functionality. Ortovox supports mountaineers with training through the Safety Academy Lab Ice platform, providing expertise in cooperation with the Association of German Mountain and Ski Guides. The Ice Lab provides a comprehensive overview of the best techniques for moving on ice. The Safety Academy also organizes practical courses to improve mountaineering skills.
Westalpen 3L Jacket and Pants
The Westalpen 3L line, designed for extreme alpine environments such as crevasses and rocky ridges, includes windproof and waterproof jackets and pants. Made of 3L Shell stretch material with Dermizax NX membrane, it offers breathability and freedom of movement. The jackets have underarm ventilation zippers for optimal comfort and a High Reach Fit design with long sleeves and torso for easy upward movement. The Westalpen 3L pants, with tapered legs, feature technical details such as leg width adjustment and thigh ventilation, making them suitable for use with ski boots as well. This line has been tested and recommended by the Association of German Mountain and Ski Guides (VDBS).
Westalpen 3L Light Pants
The Westalpen 3L Light Pants are designed for mountaineers seeking an optimal combination of light weight, protection and functionality. Made of windproof and waterproof 3L Shell Light material with Dermizax NX membrane, they provide protection from the extreme elements while maintaining breathability and freedom of movement. Dyneema Cordura inserts at the bottom edges provide abrasion resistance against rocks, while the width and leg hem are adjustable to fit mountaineering boots. Ventilation zippers improve breathability, and 120 Merino Cool Tec inserts at the waistband, along with easy adjustment, optimize comfort and fit.
Westalpen Softshell Jacket and Pants
The Westalpen Soft Shell line excels in harsh alpine environments with its innovative mix of materials. Abrasion- and tear-resistant Merino Naturetec Rips are used in the most at-risk areas, while Merino Naturetec in less exposed areas provides breathability, freedom of movement and thermal comfort. The jacket has long-cut sleeves and torso to facilitate ice axe use and ensure an optimal fit. Features such as a hood, adjustable cuffs and hem add to the functionality of the Westalpen Softshell Jacket, making it reliable against the elements. The pants are equipped with the Quick-Gaiter system, which allows easy hem adjustment for a perfect fit with mountaineering boots.
