Osprey creates mask against Covid-19

Osprey’s repair department creates masks for health care workers

Osprey announces that as of today, the company’s warranty and repair department, based in Cortez, Colorado, will work exclusively to sew fabric masks for healthcare and front line operators. The masks will be distributed to healthcare departments that provide home care and nursing homes.

“At this unprecedented time, I am proud of the way the team is reacting,” says Layne Rigney, President of Osprey Pack International. “While our product department is busy designing next season’s collection, our repair department is mobilizing all its efforts to support our regional healthcare providers. The repair department is giving the entire company something to be proud of and we hope that this will inspire others with similar actions based on the resources available.

Osprey’s warranty and repair department will be able to produce approximately 100 fabric masks per day by the end of the week. The masks, made of a fabric resistant to multiple washing cycles, can be worn over the N95 medical mask.
Osprey is deeply committed to protecting the health and well-being of the community, customers and employees. Once the requirements at Cortez are met, Osprey will expand the distribution of the masks to other healthcare facilities and continue to produce masks for as long as necessary.
