Polartec launches Peaking Since ’91 campaign
A look back over 30 years of textile innovation, celebrating partners, products and people who represent the outdoor lifestyle.
Polartec, a leading manufacturer of innovative and sustainable textile solutions, announces the launch of its Peaking Since ’91 campaign. The initiative pays tribute to the founding of the Polartec brand in 1991 and the many milestones in a broad history of textile innovation. Inventions that were firsts in their category and have inspired millions of passionate outdoor enthusiasts.
The campaign will begin with an interactive timeline, created in collaboration with Outside and hosted on OutsideOnline. The site will feature archival content and images of industry-changing technologies and iconic products from the past four decades, including the invention of PolarFleece, in the decade before the Polartec brand was born.
“Polartec’s is a modern story of transformation from a traditional factory to a world leader in performance textile innovations,” said Polartec President Steve Layton. “We are excited to tell the story of how collaboration with corporate partners has resulted in iconic fabrics and garments that have literally changed what we wear in the outdoors.”
The anniversary also includes the “Family Album” photographic contest, an online game aimed at creating, thanks to the contribution of all enthusiasts, a story in pictures of those who have worn Polartec garments in their outdoor adventures.
The contest will be online on the Polartec website (click here) and accessible from the various global portals of the Media Partners. Participants will have the chance to win one of many LC23 X Polartec Peaking Since’91 Jackets, limited edition by Leo Colacicco, a talented Italian designer, using the historic and original 100% recycled Polartec fleece to celebrate the Peaking Since’91 campaign.
