Polartec presents Polartec Power Air

Polartec, provider of innovative and sustainable textile solutions, announces Polartec Power Air, the first fabric technology designed to reduce the dispersion of microfibres. Encapsulating the fibers inside a multilayer fabric structure it turns out to be a revolutionary new material that offers advanced thermal efficiency.

“By using the efficiency of the encapsulated air to protect microfibers, Polartec Power Air dramatically improves the performance of fabrics throughout their lives in terms of versatility, comfort and environmental impact”, says Polartec CEO Gary Smith. ” We are just at the beginning in the realization of this new type of fabric construction“.

The innovative Polartec Power Air has recently obtained recognition from the World Textile Information Network that assigned to it its Future Textile Award as “best sustainable innovative fabric”.

In its history of innovation, Polartec has developed numerous unique protocols of repeated and intense tests that recreate the life of use of the fabric, which is put to the test by athletes and professionals of high level. In the case of Polartec Power Air, a completely new test protocol was invented to measure dispersion due to domestic washing that simulates dozens of washes in a single cycle to accurately capture and verify any microfibre dispersions over the life of the fabric.

The Polartec Power Air hooded sweatshirt is now proposed by Adidas as well as other brands including Houdini and Mammut, ready to release their creations in their next collections.
