ROTPUNKT: ALEX MEGOS NEW MOVIE

Rotpunkt tells the story of the “redpoint”, the style that transformed rock climbing from an engineering problem to a brilliant test of mental and physical strength.

The film covers the stages of the “redpoint” since its birth, which took place thanks to a group of “revolutionaries in tights” in rural Bavaria, passing through its golden age with the legend Wolfgang Güllich, to arrive at its new quintessence: the Alex Megos phenomenon.

The shots follow the German climber through attempts, failures and successes, in his climb to unlock the new levels of human potential.

ROCK CLIMBING AMBASSADOR PATAGONIA

Alexander started climbing when he was 5 years old. In 2006 he participated in his first competition, a part of the Bavarian Sportclimbing Cup. Three years later he won the first of the two European Youth Cup championships in which he took part. He is convinced that climbing is the best sport in the world, but he doesn’t want it to become a real profession. He also loves to take pictures and travel around the world.
