Salewa: Bike&Climb Project

North3, a new project by Salewa, is about to start. It’ s a new way of conceiving activities in the mountains. In 1991, two daring mountaineers had given birth to a new challenge: to climb in a single day the north face of the Ortles and Cima Grande di Lavaredo, covering the distance between the two mountains by bicycle.

Today, spring 2018, Simon Gietl and Vittorio Messini, professional athletes, will compete with the intention to challenge the result obtained almost twenty years ago and will do so by adding a third north wall, the Grossglockner and a further 117 km to ride by bike. It’ s not just a sustainable adventure of how to live the mountains or a tribute to a mountaineering history page, but it will also be a way to collect donations for Sudtirol Hilft, for people in difficulty.
