Salewa with Polartec: sustainable innovation in the heart of the Dolomites

For many years now Salewa has been choosing the numerous technologies offered by Polartec with particular attention to the sustainable characteristics of the fabrics.

This month our collaboration is expressed by the three new jackets in the Hybrid series with Polartec Alpha and the recent technology created specifically for Salewa: High Loft plus wool.

Jackets Hybrid 2 Alpha

The versatility of the Pedroc Hybrid 2 Polartec Alpha jacket makes it ideal for hard mountain sports such as speed hiking and mountaineering. The Alpha active insulation, now made from 100% recycled content, was originally invented for the U.S. Special Forces to provide thermoregulation and increased breathability with extreme temperature variations. This versatility is the key to the success of the Salewa Hybrid collection, official apparel of the Red Bull X-Alps event.

Pedroc Hybrid Wind Alpha Jacket 

It is based on the innovative design of the Hybrid 2 and uses Polartec Alpha Direct. This evolution of Alpha technology eliminates the need for a support fabric by perfecting the shape and size of the volumized fibres. Alpha Direct can be used in direct contact with the skin or other layers of fabric and increases breathability and compressibility, while reducing drying time and garment weight.

Ortles High Loft Sweatshirt

Salewa has used Polartec High Loft in previous seasons. Recently the brand has decided to use more natural materials in the realization of its products, Polartec has made the project possible by studying a new technology. Our design team has designed a new version of High Loft plus wool, a more durable version of the natural anti-odour and temperature control qualities.
