SCARPA focuses on trail running

Marco De Gasperi announced at the Outdoor & Running Business Days 2020 the new products for mountain running. Present also the team of athletes that aims high for the next racing season.

SCARPA, Italian company among the world leaders in the production of mountain and outdoor footwear, presented at the Outdoor & Running Business Daysimportant new products for the Trail running category. It was a special occasion because for the first time after the lockdown SCARPA came back in a public event, even if open only to retailers and business partners.

Marco De Gasperi, brand manager of the Trail running category, was in the front line to tell the previews of the SS2021 season: Golden Gate, dedicated to the easiest and most mixed off-road terrain, Spin Infinity, dedicated to long distance, the light and performing Ribelle Run for Sky Running and Spin 2.0 for short and medium distance.
“I’m proud to present the new Trail running collection, on which we have worked assiduously, day and night, with SCARPA’s research and development team” said De Gasperi, who arrived at the company a few months ago and in a very difficult historical moment. “I have been welcomed by the SCARPA family in a commendable way and I intend to make all my knowledge available to reach a new maturity in a strongly growing sector such as mountain running”.

The novelties for next season are naturally addressed to professionals and athletes to allow them to achieve high level results and to compete to the best of their potential. But the desire of SCARPA and De Gasperi is to widen the proposal of Trail running shoes to a growing audience of enthusiasts and amateurs who are also looking for a high performance and innovative product. In addition, the attention to women and the different running needs have been addressed with awareness and a not negligible commitment: specifically, proposals specifically designed for women’s feet have been created to offer a tailored and personalized fit.

The continuous research of materials has allowed SCARPA to introduce for the first time in some Trail running shoes the Pebax Renew. It is an ecological material derived from corn plantations, which respects the environment and allows to rework a proposal of products for consumers more attentive to sustainability issues. This particular material is also characterized by the rebound and the considerable cushioning, has no memory and does not deform with use, also offering greater durability.

Together with the product previews, the brand manager of the Asolo-based company also presented some of the Italian athletes of the Trail running team, setting himself great goals: to position himself at the top of the rankings, achieve important results both in Italy and in international competitions and grow a team of young talents. In addition to the names already known and that represent the pillars of SCARPA, there are new faces to give momentum to the Trail running team. At the Outdoor & Running Business Days were present the women’s team Elisa Desco, Hillary Gerardi, Ilaria Veronese and Elisa Compagnoni. While among the men took part in the initiative Fabio Ruga, Gil Pintarelli, Valentino Speziali, Lorenzo Beltrami and Simone Bertini.
