For experienced ski mountaineers who want maximum downhill performance without sacrificing comfort

Scarpa Maestrale_Boots_TEST

Outstanding product designed for ski mountaineering and freeriding. An advanced boot that is well suited for use with wide skis and structured bindings. Friction Free technology makes walking more agile and free, reducing friction and allowing greater freedom of movement during ascents. Uphill, the backward flexion is wide and comfortable, while forward, at the bottom of the stroke, we felt a slight pressure felt on the instep (which stabilized after some use and did not cause any more discomfort). Downhill, we really enjoyed the Mistral RS, which offered us stability and precision in both wide, fast turns and tight turns or steeper terrain. The cuff, made of Pebax Rnew with Carbon Core technology, offering increased torsional stiffness, definitely improves precision and control of skiing, especially with the use of a wide ski. The new 102 shape is more precise in the heel and medial area, along with a wider metatarsal area, provides a perfect fit for the foot. This compact shape promotes an excellent connection between the foot and the boot, improving performance and sensitivity.
