A fun and playful board for freestyle lovers: very easy in conduction it is an all mountain suitable for beginners as well

Slash Happy Place test

Happy Place is snowboarding for the die-hard parkers, or for those who want to turn the rest of the mountain into a park. Super playful, as you can kind of already guess from the name itself, is a bomb for every trick you can think of, on and off the ground: spins, small and medium jumps, side-hits, jibbing and finally even for switch snowboarders. Also good pop, we would say an 8 out of 10. At the same time it is not a “difficult” board so it is a bit of an evergreen: it is good for both beginners and more experienced riders who want to improve their freestyle technique. We tried to test it in a wide variety of situations, and we can say that as an all mountain board it is perfect unless you have too many demands in powder: there is enough rocker at the tip and tail to help with flotation, plus you can set the pitch back a bit, but it is certainly not a true powder board. We had fun off-piste, but feel that on a day with very deep snow the Happy Place may be a bit heavy to handle. As far as turning is concerned, it is very effective at low speeds but does not give too much satisfaction in carving: it encourages very narrow and fast carving but it is not its best output let’s say. Overall it wins for its ease of use and the fun it can bring in freestyle.

We Like: The playfulness of a board designed for fun in the park that is, however, also flexible on other types of terrain and allows the entire mountain to be transformed into a park
