Test: Blizzard Zero G 105

Test: Blizzard Zero G 105

Aggressive, lightweight, capable of giving strong emotions. The Blizzard Zero G 105 are the skis for the most demanding freetourers.

With its Zero G series, Blizzard has entered the free touring segment, bringing a revolutionary concept to ski enthusiasts. Lightweight, structured, performing: the Zero Gs are all linked by a common thread but each size is a ski in itself. The Blizzard Zero G 105, the widest in the series, is a backcountry ski that combines lightness on the ascent with high performance on the descent. The core is made of lightweight paulownia wood, built for maximum performance at low weight, which is combined with Carbon Drive 2.0, a 3D geometry in unidirectional carbon fiber. Moving on to skiing, the Blizzard Zero G 105 are versatile skis that work well in all conditions, even if they give strong emotions especially on powder. They work well at all speeds and on all slopes, even on steep, but encounter some limitations in wide turns on crusty snow. Ideal for demanding and prepared skiers, not for beginners: skiing is not immediate and requires a correct setting. So if you are an expert user the Blizzard Zero G 105 skis will be versatile and manoeuvrable, and on the right feet they will allow you incredible curves. Thanks to their weight they can be used on long tours and trips in search of the perfect snow on unexplored slopes. But if you don’t find it, it doesn’t matter because you haven’t brought who knows what weight with you and the descent will still be fun. In the end, we recommend these skis to aggressive skiers willing to get away from the resort looking for good snow and ready to draw perfect lines.

We Like: Lightweight uphill and downhill performance on powder.
