Test: CMP Thiamat Mid 2.0 WP

Test: CMP Thiamat Mid 2.0 WP

CMP’s top of the range for light hiking.

Thiamat 2.0 is the top model of CMP’s hiking collection, a clothing brand born from the experience and know-how of the F.lli Campagnolo group. This mid-cut version features a classic and traditional design, characterized by a particularly Nubuck leather that feels good to the touch and Armortex inserts with anti-abrasion Kevlar fabric (distinguishable by the knurling on the upper that gives structure to the side panels). The upper part is completed with two heat-sealed rubber sections: the first on the toe cap, the other in support of the heel. Overall it offers a very soft fit without pressure points.

The inner lining includes a ClimaProtect membrane, a special proprietary thermal laminate that makes it completely waterproof (here’s comes the acronym WP that stands for waterproof). Footbed in Ortholite X40 with Hybrid technology capable of ensuring greater elasticity and return of the energy discharged to the ground. The microporous EVA midsole includes a clearly recognizable TPU insert, which gives stability to the heel. The rubber sole with Megagrip compound, characterized by the classic Vibram Winkler design, and a particularly pronounced tread pattern, guarantees great grip uphill, discharging debris and mud well. In the end it is a very comfortable model, which favors an easy and fluid walk. Ideal for light hiking and novice hikers.

We Like: Comfort and softness in the fit.
