Test: Dachstein SF-21 GTX

Test: Dachstein SF-21 GTX

A versatile low-cut model, ready for any adventure.

Dachstein expands its Super Ferrata family with the low-cut SF-21 model, an all-rounder shoe to wear anytime, anywhere. SF-21 is a multifunctional approach shoe that features a completely new sole, developed with the Swiss company SUPtraction. On the upper part you can find a high quality suede upper and an abrasion resistant mesh lining that wraps a soft collar. 4mm laces slide over rope eyelets that integrate with the side panels, wrapping the entire foot for grip and stability. The system, derived from climbing, goes up to the tip to improve fit precision.

The wide and supportive EVA midsole in the heel area offers well-balanced cushioning. Finally, the Storsola sole specially designed for approach terrain. The special rubber compound and the sole design give a firm grip on rough terrain, alternating a unidirectional design, with rather pronounced lugs, with two climbing zones on the toe and heel to facilitate passages on rock. This SF-21 seemed like a consistent and versatile package to us. Prepared for all weather conditions, it’s a shoe perfected for walking comfortably on all trails and safely tackling the steepest terrain. The combination of robust materials with soft cushioning elements is ideal even for longer hikes.

We Like: The two-tone midsole gives a modern look.
