Test: SCARPA Ribelle Run

Test: SCARPA Ribelle Run

Scarpa’s new iconic model for trail running.

Ribelle Run is SCARPA‘s absolute star of 2021, the most technical and innovative in its category. The upper adopts a Sock-Fit construction consisting of a breathable mesh bootie and heat-sealed reinforcements connected to a precise and fast self-locking lacing system. The lateral inserts form an exoskeleton that supports the foot, guaranteeing a homogeneous wrapping. The tongue in elastic fabric improves comfort and makes the volumes functional to the athletic gesture. The heel is well stabilized by the TPU band. The midsole in medium density EVA, stable and responsive in the push phase, integrates reinforcements on the rear design that increase support. The 4mm drop facilitates agility and the feeling with the ground. The Presa TRN-01 sole, the highest expression of SCARPA’s R&D department, is made of high-grip rubber.

Excellent grip, both on dry and wet surfaces, with geometries that highlight lateral thrust zones and braking zones on the heel. Ribelle Run is the shoe for those looking for absolute precision and ability to adapt to any degree of difficulty. Lightweight and performing, with an aggressive and captivating look, it is designed for skyrunning races and short/medium distances. Ideal on alpine trails, technical and rocky surfaces. That’s why it has been chose by Marco De Gasperi for scoring his record on Sentiero Roma.

We Like: The soft sock that wraps around the ankle and instep.
