The Banff Centre Mountain Film Festival World Tour, the international film festival of medium and short films dedicated to the world of mountain and outdoor sports that presents the 10 best films selected among the finalists at the Canadian event of the same name, is ready to restart after the long break made mandatory by the Coronavirus emergency.

The 8th local edition (in Italy the “Banff” has been present since 2013 and in seven years has recorded over 76,000 admissions) was interrupted in March, in the heart of the 2020 tour, but from September 14 will resume screenings in theaters that were forced to postpone the scheduled screening at the beginning of the year.

There are 30 events scheduled, from September 14 to the beginning of October. It will begin with screenings in Rome (September 14 and 15, at the same time as Bergamo, but will have a third stage on September 16), and then return to the northern center with Varese (September 18), Morbegno (September 16), Bologna (September 21 and 22), Cesena and Vicenza (September 23), Novara (September 29) and Aosta (October 6).

The audience that will take part in the evenings will have the opportunity to relive the 375 km journey alone along the rapids of the Himalayan rivers of Nouria Newman (The Ladakh Project); see the Scottish superstar biker Danny MacAskill in the unusual role of babysitter (Danny Daycare); symbolically cross the border between USA and Mexico thanks to the meeting between the American slackliner Corbin Kunst on the Texas side and the Mexican Jamie Maruffo (The Immaginary Line); reach one of the most remote regions of Antarctica with snow kiting together with Leo Houlding, Jean Burgun and Mark Sedon with the aim of climbing the top of the most remote mountain of the planet (Spectre Expedition); retrace the stages that led Hilaree Nelson and Jim Morrison to complete the first descent on skis of Lhotse Couloir to 6400 m of Camp 2 on the fourth highest mountain in the world (Lhotse 8516 m).

Many guests are also expected in the hall during these latest projections of Banff 2020, protagonists of the international scenario of outdoor sports. Among them the ambassadors “La Sportiva” Ludovico Fossali, Silvio Reffo, Luca Zardini, Pietro Radassao and Anna Torretta. To these are also added the ambassador “Ferrino” Nicola Tondini and the ambassador “Buff” Luca Manfredi Negri. In Padua will be Luca Gandolfo to bring a testimony of the activity of the geographical-speleological exploration group La Venta.
