The Film Gorropu in preview on the Ferrino website

The film Gorropu, a portrait of the Polish climber Aleksandra Taistra, will be shown on Saturday, September 19 during the 25th edition of the Ladek Mountain Festival, the most important Polish event dedicated to mountain cinematography.

Event that since three years hosts the award ceremony of the Piolets d’Or, the Oscars of mountaineering. In concomitance with the screening Ferrino will organize an online preview for Monday 21. From 21 to 24 it will be possible to see Gorropu in a dedicated section of the Ferrino website.

Gorropu, title of the movie made by Francesco Pierini, Ivan Frattina and Filippo Maragno, is also the name of a gorge in Sardinia, the one where Aleksandra Taistra made her most important ascent: Hotel Supramonte in the day (8b max/7c obbl.; 400 m). Course opened by Rolando Larcher and Roberto Vigiani in 1999, Hotel Supramonte is one of the most popular multi-pitch routes in Europe. The film retraces, scene after scene, the route that led Aleksandra from the first approach with the rock to the conclusion of this ambitious project, in October 2019.

It is not a mere tale of a rock climbing, but a journey that touches on emotional and sentimental aspects as well as sporting ones. A film that speaks of endurance and perseverance, but also of personal maturation through the realization of something out of reach for many. It shows how the concentration necessary to endure the difficulties of intense climbing, failed attempts, bad weather conditions, can become a means to understand oneself.

For her climbs Aleksandra wears Rock Slave and uses Ferrino High Lab camping equipment. “We are proud – comments Anna Ferrino, CEO – to support Aleksandra and with her the film Gorropu. A strong and determined climber, able to live climbing as a path of growth, going beyond the athletic gesture”.
