The impossible becomes possible: Nirmal Purja on top of K2

SCARPA ambassador Nirmal “Nims” Purja conquers the last great Himalayan challenge together with a team of Nepalese mountaineers.
The key to the success of the enterprise was the cohesion of the team, which once again reminds us that unity is strength. With this feat, the Nepalese people have come full circle, as Tenzing Norgay, the Sherpa who, together with Edmund Hillary, was the first to climb Everest, the first eight-thousand metre peak, in 1953.

“I am honoured to be able to say that as a team we climbed the majestic K2 in extreme winter conditions. We decided to make the impossible possible and we are honoured to share this moment, not only with the Nepalese climbing community, but with communities around the world. Mother Nature always has bigger things to say and it is incredible to reach the summit and witness the sheer power of her extremities. We are proud to have been part of history for humanity and to show that collaboration, teamwork and a positive mental attitude can push the limits of what we feel might be possible. Thank you for the support we have received from people all over the world, it has set fire in our chests to make this goal a reality”.
