The new Solo by Alba Optics

A new frame and lens combination for cyclist & winter outdoors enthusiasts

When the road looks infinite, and your breath chews dust. As the world is learning to embrace a new way of life, and the first of the season’s snow tickles the mountain tops… Alba Optics presents Solo.
A retromodern hiker style frame available in white milk and black ink, made from Tr90 – the leader in durable, lightweight and flexible materials for sports eyewear. The Solo is a versatile style that is suitable for a variety of outdoor sports: both on two wheels, across water and on foot.

Alba Optics has developed with their technicians, two new Vzumtm lenses unique to the Solo: Ml F-Lens Beetle and ML KING with a signature third lens also available, ML Leaf.
Developed over the past year, the Solo is a modern take on the classic Aviator, “We were inspired by the solace that comes with riding solo” says Co-Founder Piergiorgio Catalano, “looking at how to best enjoy the pursuit of these outdoor and alpine landscapes, in all weather conditions, but especially as we move into these European cooler months”.

A detachable flap, or side shield, gives the Solo a nostalgic feel. Designed to protect the sides of the eye from strong winds and debris, as well as assisting to align forward focus. This feature, however, is more suitable for hiking and mountaineering for obvious safety reasons.
Total weight of the Solo is 38 grams, or 32 grams without the side shield. The arms of the frame are telescopic, adjusting to comfortably fit the wearers head. The frame is also compatible with the brand’s Optical Clip, a separate attachment for prescription lens wearers. An Asian fit nose pad is also available at no extra cost.
