A directional, playful and impeccably designed table

United Shapes Cadet test

The Cadet is a board for people who like to have fun, and by fun we mean exploring the more playful aspects of snowboarding. It is medium stiff, which makes it suitable for speed, but flexible enough to transfer a smooth and lively feel to the surf.Between very fast turns and jumps, we tested firsthand how much fun this item allows, both on the track and in the park. Essential design, deep sidecut and traditional camber are the ingredients for extremely precise riding, even in fairly challenging steep conditions we did not notice any smearing and the feeling underfoot is one of maximum stability. Highest satisfaction from our side in freeride performance as well: thanks to the slightly raised nose and flat tail that promote flotation, while the classic camber gives pop and power. We tested it on a day with optimal snow conditions, with only a few icy crusts here and there, but otherwise 30 centimeters of fresh underfoot. This is definitely an all-mountain board, but we feel like we would recommend it for intermediate riders who are looking for perhaps progression and have gotten to the point where they deserve a board from people who are serious about it and who want a model that is as flawless on the slopes as it is in freeride and freestyle.
