Verticialma: an atypical vertical

Verticialma

Verticialma: June 1, 2024, Locana

The Verticialma is an unconventional vertical race that develops, beyond the first few meters on asphalt, in three distinct sectors: a first part (about 3.5 km) decidedly hard and selective in which the trail never seems to let up, an intermediate “hilly” section (traverse of about 1.5 km) still on trail in which it is possible to refresh or relaunch depending on the energy left, and a final part (last km) in which the slopes become challenging again.

This event is ideal for both intense climbers and trail runners. Victory will depend on the ability to combine physical strength and energy strategy. However, the event transcends mere sports competition: it is an initiative of a group of friends who are passionate about sports and mountains to enhance the Locana area and its mountains. The post-race will see festivities at La Cialma Bar/Restaurant, with food, music and fun, supported by the Locana Town Council, Pro Loco and La Cialma Society.

This exclusive race is reserved for 250 athletes, but open to all for participation in the side events.
