Conceived to meet the needs of the most demanding trail runners, the Elite Sole Trailrunning has been designed to offer the ultimate in grip, traction and lightweight performance, along with the comfort needed by athletes who face ultra-marathons. The result is a highly advanced sole concept: stable and comfortable, reliable and precise, the dream of any trail runner looking for the perfect performance. After numerous tests in the field, in the laboratory and thanks to the input received from the Lithuanian trail runner, Vibram R&D department has created a complete sole concept, tread + midsole, combining the best compounds and technologies produced in recent years by Vibram.

The midsoles are coupled with a Vibram Megagrip tread compound, which offers excellent grip even in extreme wet conditions on rocky, uneven and challenging terrain. The lightness of Vibram Elite Sole is also ensured by the use of Vibram Litebase technology, Vibram’s innovative solution to drastically reduce the weight of the tread (up to 30%), through the reduction of the rubber base (up to 50%), while maintaining the same level of performance of the sole.

Among Vibram’s new products for the Spring/Summer 2022 season is the Vibram Durastep compound, a true innovation designed for the needs of mountaineers and lovers of intensive high-altitude mountaineering activities. This compound has been specifically formulated to maximize grip characteristics even at low temperatures, when dealing with uneven surfaces and terrain, conditions often encountered along the way during mountain ascents.

Mountaineering boots are characterized by a very rigid and reinforced structure, made to keep the foot firm, stable and safe inside. The research has led to the creation of a new concept compound, Vibram XS Ride, which optimally balances the superior grip performance typical of climbing compounds with durability, offering a prolongation and consistency of performance well beyond expectations. Vibram XS Ride is particularly performing when used on flat pedals where grip on the pedal is guaranteed by the rubber and the design. In addition, thanks to its formulation, it favors immediate repositionability, facilitating the rider in the situation in which he needs to return his foot to the optimal position for riding, keeping it firmly on the pedal.
