Vibram proposals for the winter season 2021

The coldest season of the year is on its way, and in order to enjoy your favourite sport to the fullest, it is important to choose the right equipment for every situation. In snow and ice, safety is paramount, especially when it comes to getting to the piste or climbing up the mountain to try your favourite session.

In recent years, ski and snowboard boots have undergone an enormous evolution in technical terms, becoming more and more specific depending on the activity. Vibram, a leading brand in the production of high-performance rubber soles, has followed this progress and developed increasingly innovative solutions dedicated to each use. In snowboarding, we find soft Vibram compounds for greater sensitivity, which emphasize wear resistance and rock support properties, as well as specific compounds designed for freeriding and ski mountaineering that offer greater grip on snow, ice and slippery terrain.

Vibram presents a series of Fall/Winter 2020.21 footwear in collaboration with partner brands, designed for athletes who love freeriding, snowboarding and ski mountaineering.

F1 LT shoe powered by Vibram

Combining technological elements with a backcountry-oriented design, Scarpa’s new F1 LT is the company’s most versatile and lightweight mountaineering boot. This model is equipped with a Vibram Ufo RS sole, made with a specific hardness compound that allows for dimensional consistency and correct hooking/unhooking of the boot and use of the crampon. The sole design is designed to facilitate self-cleaning. Another innovative material used for the shell and cuff is Carbon Grilamid LFT, which fuses long-wire carbon fibres into Grilamid plastic, significantly increasing strength and stiffness. In addition, the F1 LT’s 3D Lambda frame has been developed to increase rigidity and torsional strength, while at the same time allowing the shell thickness to be reduced with a distinct weight advantage. Comfort and foot protection are also paramount, the gaiter of this boot is constructed from two different types of fabric, increasing insulation. While the upper elastic band keeps the gaiter in place at all times, guaranteeing an excellent walk without pressure points.

La Sportiva Vega powered by Vibram

La Sportiva’s Vega is the brand’s most advanced four-hook model, dedicated to ski tourers and free-riders who are looking for the ideal combination of power, control, durability and precision. This boot features a Vibram sole with dual compound and differentiated density, perfect especially in conditions of heavy snow, rocks and slippery terrain. The large surface area at the toe ensures increased grip when walking uphill, with enhanced traction and safety performance thanks to the presence of self-cleaning channels. The Vega’s shell is made of lightweight and durable Grilamid Carbon Reinforced, while the patented Vertebra Technology carbon locking system facilitates power transmission on descents. To facilitate the mobility of the foot, La Sportiva Vega offers a 60° rotation radius which makes this boot excellent even when walking. In addition, the dual compatibility with Race TECH and AT bindings allows for a wide range of uses.

Tecnica Zero G Tour Pro powered by Vibram

Faithful to the concept of the Zero G collection, the multi-award winning Tecnica Zero G Tour Pro is the ski mountaineering boot for very demanding skiers. The model features a Vibram sole for optimum grip on all uneven terrain and in snow and ice. The sole features a dual-density coupound, heel and toe have a higher hardness to facilitate binding attachment and release and optimise durability, while the central part is made of a compound with different characteristics to increase the grip of the sole and ensure a safe walk. Several technical features, including a carbon fibre cuff, a Grilamid Shell and a wide range of motion of 55 degrees, make this boot the best in class for ascents and skins. Comfort is also exceptional, thanks to a weight of only 1,320 grams, this model is the lightest of the entire collection. The Zero G Tour Pro comes complete with four buckles for maximum performance on the descent.
