Walking in winter: the new Hanwag models

For everyday walks and easier excursions of the cold season, Hanwag presents the new Araio GTX and Tolva GTX, developed to ensure maximum grip and comfort of fit even on slippery and wet terrain typical of the winter period.

No season more than winter reveals the absolute importance of a good pair of shoes. From the home-work trip studded with puddles to the weekend getaways in the nature, there are many opportunities to test the quality and reliability of our shoes. Building on its almost century-old shoe tradition dedicated to mountaineering and hiking activities, the Bavarian company Hanwag presents Araio GTX and Tolva GTX, the new models of the “Active Winter” collection designed to be worn in everyday life, for easy hiking during the autumn or to go to work when it snows.

Practical, versatile and comfortable, available for him and her, Araio GTX and Tolva GTX are two minimal boots, cut just beyond the ankle. Both have a particularly comfortable fit that allows the big toe to stay straight and are made of top quality leather with trendy Loden effect details. The ATR sole with 10% recycled rubber ensures excellent grip on wet ground.

Upper and lining
Thanks to the processing of sturdy nubuck and split leather for the upper and the waterproof and breathable Gore-Tex lining, specific for trekking, Araio GTX and Tolva GTX offer softness, warmth and waterproofness. In addition to the premium leather, the trendy inserts that imitate Loden are also striking. 70% wool and 30% polyester.

Fit
Weather resistance must not affect comfort. For this reason, a particularly comfortable fit has been developed thanks to the use of the Hanwag Straight-Fit shape, which provides more space for your fingers thanks to a wider housing. What does this mean in concrete terms? More comfort and better thermal insulation, an advantage that surprises positively on colder days.

Outsole
When it comes to sole, we do not compromise. Tolva GTX and Araio GTX are equipped with ATR sole, particularly resistant to abrasion and partly recycled. Thanks to the high percentage of natural rubber in the compound, it offers an optimal grip on slippery and wet ground.
