AKU with Peter Moser: the Lagorai in winter in one go

AKU alongside the Trentino mountain guide Peter Moser for a great mountaineering adventure just a stone’s throw from home: joining all the peaks of the Lagorai above 2000 metres.

In little more than 15 days Peter Moser, mountain guide of Valsugana, has joined in a long walk more than 200 peaks above 2000 meters of the Lagorai-Cima d’Asta mountain range: tens of kilometers and more than 6000 meters of altitude difference faced daily. A project of high technical level that combines classic alpine style climbs with ski mountaineering routes many of which have never been done before. An experience that goes beyond the mere sporting performance to become a real “exploratory journey” within nature and within oneself, in full harmony with the AKU spirit.

The protagonists: Peter Moser and the Lagorai

Peter Moser is like the Lagorai: discreet, barely visible, wild and sweet at the same time, far from the limelight of great mountaineering. If we compare it with the delicate limestone of the nearby Pale di San Martino, the Lagorai is something else: son of volcanic fire it is hard and scratchable, just like Peter. Here Peter is at home, this is his home and there are no peaks, gullies, walls or ridges that he has not climbed in summer and winter and almost always alone. Son of farmers he grew up on a farm in Valsugana, the Lagorai has had him in his heart since he was a child and so in his mind he came up with the idea of joining all the peaks of the Lagorai that exceed 2000 metres and climbing them in winter, using his experience as a 360° alpinist.

The Lagorai-Cima d’Asta mountain range is one of the largest in Trentino, it is over 70 km from Panarotta to Passo Rolle and the peaks over 2000 meters are over 200. What Peter has in mind to do is an ambitious and challenging project, for many good alpinists it could be the goal of a lifetime. Peter was planning to do it in two or three weeks at the most and the great thing is that he made it.
