Arco Rock Master Festival 2018
The international climbing festival will take place in Arco di Trento during two weekends, from 27 to 29 July, for the competitions of the IFSC (International Federation of Sport Climbing) and from 3 to 5 August, dedicated to Rock Junior, for the future climbers of tomorrow. Athletes, enthusiasts and sports brands will enliven the town of Arco. There will be a dense program of competitions, events and initiatives that will turn Arco into a real “Home of climbing”. There will also be the Rock Master Village, where the best brands of this sector will show the products news, but there will also be many moments of entertainment such as the slackline show and the cuccagna climbing as well as good music.
It will start with the World Cup qualifiers with the Lead specialty on July 27th, a day that will end with the historic gala of the “Arco Rock Legends”, which are the climbing Oscar since over ten years. During the evening, a specialized jury will award the La Sportiva Competition Award and the Wild Country Rock Award to the two athletes who, through distinctive performances in the race and on natural rock, will have made the 2017 season memorable, while the title of Dryarn Climbing Ambassador will be awarded to the character who has become a standard-bearer and sport climbing promoter.
While Saturday, July the 28th, after Speed qualifiers, Lead athletes will face each other to grab a place in the finals and towards the evening the finals of both disciplines will be held. Starting at 6.30 pm, the Speed finals will start, while from 7.30 pm, the Lead will see eight male finalists and eight female finalists contend for the IFSC World Cup gold medal in a limit time of six minutes.
The next weekend will be all for young champions aged 5 to 13. The youngers will compete in a combined test that includes three climbing disciplines: Friday 3 and Saturday 4 August will be dedicated to the Lead and Boulder discipline, while Sunday 5 will be for the rapidity requested by the Speed.
