ClimbHow Festival of Via Ferrata – As part of the initiative
XHOW
, an event dedicated to the topic of mountain hazards and the education of mountain sports enthusiasts in winter and summer, has been organizing the Innsbruck Via Ferrata Trials Festival for 5 years (date 2024: September 7/8).

For the first time this summer, the event will also be held in South Tyrol and will offer all those interested in via ferrata the perfect setting to get started in the sport, as well as to train and test equipment. At the top station of the Speikboden cable car, you can learn and practice the proper use of via ferrata equipment and climbing techniques in free workshops with certified mountain guides. You will also learn how to approach the Via Ferrata adventure with children and what to do in case of an emergency. Mountain Rescue doctors and rescuers will provide valuable advice on mountain first aid. Professionals will be on hand to answer questions about the equipment at the information and testing center. The equipment in question is available free of charge on site for use during testing and trials.

The Via Ferrata Festival will be held July 6 and 7 in Speikboden in the Aurina Valley, offering a unique and educational rock climbing experience suitable for visitors of all ages. During the event, free workshops led by industry professionals will be available to teach the proper use of the equipment, basic techniques and necessary safety measures for adults and children. Participants will have the opportunity to experience directly on the “Michl,” “Adventure,” and “Kids” via ferrata routes under the expert guidance of qualified instructors, with equipment provided at no extra cost from the Speikboden – Skiworld Ahrntal mountain station.
