The extreme adventurer, a member of the Land Rover Defender Ambassador Team, is involved in the UnstoppableItaly project for the rebirth of the Dolomite valley.

Land Rover, always on the lookout for new challenges aimed at overcoming limits and barriers, announces a new exploration activity with Danilo Callegari and Nuova Defender, the car that symbolises adventure and endurance, ideal for facing any challenge and overcoming any obstacle.

Danilo Callegari, an explorer with a visceral passion for extreme sports and nature, who since 2018 has expressed the values of the pioneering and adventurous spirit of the Land Rover brand as Defender Ambassador for Italy, is involved in the new operation of the UnstoppableItaly project dedicated to the rebirth of Val di Fiemme.

Danilo’s activity foresees the identification of the damaged wooded areas in Val di Fiemme, following the violent storm that, at the end of 2018, hit this Dolomite valley, in order to contribute, together with the forestry institutions, to the harvesting of wood on the ground that still covers hundreds of cubic metres, with the aim of rediscovering the beauty of the valley and restoring dignity to the heavily damaged territory.

Danilo commented as follows: “These valleys, softened by suggestive paths, sport routes and characterized by a community rich in cultural traditions, have timber as their main resource. The area was unfortunately heavily depleted in 2018 due to a sudden wave of bad weather that literally brought most of the Trentino’s woodland heritage to its knees, particularly in the spruce forests in the Lavazé area and in the Fiemme valley. Being able to contribute, even if only a small part, to supporting this territory makes me proud”.

Thanks to the extraordinary characteristics of the New Defender, the iconic Land Rover that, even more than the others, strongly expresses the “Above & Beyond” spirit of the brand, Danilo will be able to start the operation of cleaning and removing the wood by towing the heavy felled logs, guaranteeing a minimum impact on the natural balance. Specifically, among the important capabilities of new Defender, there is the possibility of towing up to a maximum weight of 3,500 kg, a fundamental element for the advancement of the operations.
