Electric engine and same vibe as the iconic Bulli: Volkswagen presents the new ID. Buzz for adventures with friends
It has to be said, generations of younger people – including me – have always somewhat envied their grandparents and parents because they were able to experience the myth of the Bulli and the charm of adventure it always brought. But now the iconic Volkswagen van has come to life in a new, wider, more handy and, above all, more sustainable form: ID. Buzz.
Iconic style, open space environment and a 100% electric drive are the main ingredients to get ID. Buzz, a multitasking van that can take family and friends on adventures in complete comfort. The special feature that is closest to our hearts as outdoor lovers is definitely the electric engine, which allows for pollution-free and noise-free travel in the mountains, making it possible to venture into nature while fully respecting the surrounding environment – and the animals that live there.
Not only for wilderness adventures, ID. Buzz also moves well in the city for business and pleasure trips thanks to its modern aesthetics and spacious interior. Volkswagen has released two versions: the ID. Buzz – for passenger transport – and the ID. Buzz Cargo van, models with much in common but completely different purposes of use.
The versatility of ID. Buzz allows use by such diverse consumers as families, businessmen, sports teams and groups of friends seeking new adventures. A model that meets the needs of both SUV and van owners and those nostalgic for the iconic Bulli who do not want to give up traveling while respecting nature.
AUTONOMY AND CHARGING
High autonomy and fast charging are definitely two of the strengths of the ID. Buzz. In fact, according to the WLTP standard, the maximum range of the ID. Buzz in the combined cycle is 418 km while that of the ID. Buzz Cargo is up to 410 km. Charging breaks are very short, as you can bring the battery charge from 5 to 80 percent in 30 minutes if connected to a DC fast-charging station. In case fast charging is not needed, of course Volkswagen’s new van is also easily rechargeable at home, at work or at public 11 kW AC charging points.
DRIVER ASSISTANCE SYSTEMS
Many features are available as optional extras, such as Travel Assist with data exchange and automated lane change or Park Assist Plus with Memory function that allows the vehicle to park automatically in its own garage and company parking lot. Many other driver assistance systems are standard equipment, such as Front Assist with pedestrian and cyclist detection or Adaptive Cruise Control with Car2X function that allows cars equipped with this technology to communicate with each other. To understand it better, Car2X can, for example, broadcast traffic info and obstacles in the roadway, warning of short-range hazards and thus increasing safety.
SOFTWARE WITH OVER-THE-AIR UPDATES
IDs. Buzz come standard with the latest generation of Volkswagen software called ID. Software 3.2 with the ability to have over-the-air software updates without having to go to the workshop, a particularly useful feature for those who travel a lot by being away from home for a long time.
ID. BUZZ FIVE-SEATER
A van designed for family and work commitments, the classic version of the ID. Buzz features two single seats for driver and passenger, while the passenger compartment houses another three-seater with fold-down backrests. This allows the trunk capacity to vary from 1,121 liters to 2,205 liters with the second row of seats folded down.
ID. BUZZ CARGO
The Cargo version is the perfect solution for companies that want to refresh the image of their business. Pay attention to this: a lot of successful companies and perhaps with impeccable communication, travel in vans that are now too polluting and have a rather dated design. However, the car is a huge calling card and says a lot about the company that uses it so it would be counterproductive not to give more attention to this type of investment. ID. Buzz Cargo fully embodies values such as distinctiveness, sustainability, and innovation, and you can definitely tell by the attention-grabbing modern design, the technologies used, and the electric drive. As a result, this vehicle is a really good option for a company that shares the same values and wants to communicate them to the fullest.
Of course, ID. Buzz Cargo can be customized with company logos and graphics so as to make it an iconic and distinctive part of one’s business.
Going into more detail, this version will be offered as standard in a three-seat configuration, translating into a driver’s seat plus a two-seater. In this case, the cargo area reaches a capacity of 3,900 liters, allowing two Euro pallets to be accommodated.
