Gore-Tex to be exclusive partner of ISPO 2021

The outdoor industry is preparing to come together virtually for the next edition of ISPO, the most important event dedicated to sport scheduled for 1-5 February 2021, where Gore-Tex will actively collaborate.

In addition to offering new products, Gore-Tex will be “on stage” to offer presentations, workshops and panel discussions. Since the introduction of Gore-Tex fabric in 1976, W.L. Gore & Associates has been a major player in the outdoor industry. The brand has a strong worldwide network of brand partners, retailers, athletes and outdoor enthusiasts who test the products during their outdoor activities. Gore is well aware of its role and its enormous responsibility. The company is one of the largest privately held companies in the United States and its operations and success are based on long-term vision and sound planning. The Gore-Tex brand is committed to protecting people and the planet while extending the life of products and the well-being of individuals.

This strong commitment underpins ambitious goals. In summer 2020, Gore-Tex introduced its Sustainability Framework to reaffirm the company’s commitment to the goals of the 2015 Paris Agreement. The latest Gore-Tex Pro and Gore-Tex Invisible Fit technologies offer durable and sustainable performance and protection. Gore researchers and developers face numerous challenges in shaping the future of functional clothing and footwear. Gore’s in-depth knowledge and innovative spirit will be the subject of speeches and debates on the digital platform of ISPO Conference 2021, focusing on social issues of major interest and mega trends.

Achim Löffler, Global Business Leader Consumer Fabrics, will give the keynote speech while Ross MacLaine, Sustainability Leader, will invite Stewart Sheppard (Higg Corp), Celine Mazars (Salomon) and Adrian Huber (Mammut) to a panel discussion on sustainability and the importance of cooperation in this area.

Gore-Tex technologies will be showcased in showrooms and virtual workshops organised by product experts and with guests such as Mollie Hughes who, in 2020, tested the new Gore-Tex Pro technology in extreme conditions, becoming the youngest woman to undertake a solo expedition to the South Pole. Another workshop held by La Sportiva’s trail running experts will be dedicated to Gore-Tex Invisible Fit, the most innovative footwear technology on the market.
