Lafuma joins the organization 1% for the planet and will allocate 1% of the turnover of the equipment line to environmental projects and causes.

Lafuma rethinks Operation Responsible Mountain in light of the health situation…

Lafuma, together with its partners, has been organising Operation Responsible Mountain since 2007, a day of waste collection on the Mer de Glace and along the Chamonix trails.

Since the first edition, 30 tons of waste have been collected, 1,500 volunteers mobilized and as many shared smiles. This year, the event, which attracts volunteers from all over Europe and raises awareness of the opportunity to experience the mountains in a responsible way, has been rethought in the light of the health emergency. On September 5, 2020 only a dozen people will be involved in the cleaning of the glacier and the paths of Chamonix, the event will not be open to the public.

To confirm its commitment to the environment and strengthen its commitment to sustainability, Lafuma donates the 2020 event budget to organizations recognized by 1% for the Planet! But that’s not all! Lafuma becomes a member of 1% for the Planet and is committed to supporting it with the Equipment segment (backpacks, sleeping bags and accessories).
