Matteo Della Bordella delays departure for Patagonia

Matteo Della Bordella and Giacomo Mauri, members of the Ragni di Lecco, left for Patagonia on an expedition to Cerro Torre. The departure was delayed this year for two reasons: Della Bordella became a father and the two wanted to experience a different season, trying to avoid the high summer temperatures. The goal is to climb several lines in the Cerro Torre area, celebrating the 50th anniversary of the first ascent. The delay in departure is an experiment to cope with the climate crisis and seek lower temperatures. Della Bordella’s partner will be Giacomo Mauri, a young and already experienced mountaineer, with whom they recently climbed the “Apriti Cielo” route in Canton Ticino.
