Wave Rider reaches its 26th edition, providing even more propulsion to the ride
Mizuno presents the 26th edition of the Wave Rider, now a benchmark for the running community. Its main feature is high responsiveness, in this model supported by an ocean wave-inspired design.
In Wave Rider 26 we can find improvements especially in the upper: jaquard air mesh combined with 3D PU printing provides maximum comfort and breathability to the foot. The fit is comfortable thanks also to the tongue construction integrated into the upper. In addition, the side lugs have been unified in the upper eliminating seams and, consequently, any possible risk of abrasion.
The iconic Wave plate has been updated, with raised medial and lateral lugs for better support and stability. The outsole has also evolved to make the shoe more propulsive, thanks to a new forefoot design geared toward responsiveness and propulsion during transition. Lastly, the Wave Rider 26 was made from recycled materials: the mesh upper, tongue, eyelet reinforcement, and laces are made from recycled PET. The Wave’s Pebax plate, on the other hand, is made from castor oil extracts.
