New Balance FuelCell SC Elite V3
New Balance finally presents the FuelCell SC Elite v3, its boldest and fastest model, which in this its third version completely changes heart and skin.
It only takes a brief glance to realize that this is a competition shoe, designed specifically for marathons and half-marathons: in fact, we saw a special edition of it produced in very few pieces just for the 2022 New York City Marathon and have been waiting for its official launch ever since.
We find the same mix of technology that New Balance had already put a few months ago in the FuelCell SC Trainer, its “younger” training sister. It is clear, then, that the complete renewal of the FuelCell range is a far-reaching project for the Boston-based company. The double-layer midsole has been completely revised from the previous model to give back maximum propulsion paired with the full-length carbon fiber plate. The new Energy Arc – already pioneered precisely in the SC Trainer – is intended to maximize energy return and help ground the weight.
The upper is of the knitted kind with an integrated tongue, so that it provides an excellent fit, with comfort that is definitely above average compared to other shoes in the same segment. The coloring and graphics of the launch drop are honestly a little bombshell.
