On the Trail of Glaciers: Alps 2020

Ferrino renews its support for the photographic-scientific project on climate change for the expedition “Alps 2020”.

Document the variations of the most important mountain glacial masses of the planet in the last 100 years and witness in this way the climate changes: this is the goal of On the Trail of Glaciers, the photographic project-scientific conceived by Fabiano Ventura and promoted by the association Macromicro, with the support of some organizations and companies, including ferrino.

Monte Bianco, Monte Rosa, Bernina (Italian side) and ortles-cevedale. These are the massive mountains on which for three weeks will focus the pre-shipment“Alpi 2020”, started on July 25.

“We expect to find particular evidence of the effect of climate change on the whole Alpine region. In the Alps, the collapse of glacial masses is particularly significant. According to the most recent scientific research from the mid 800 to today the alpine glaciers have lost 60% of their surface and every year they are measured backward of the fronts of tens of meters and very significant thickness reductions also at high altitudes”.
Fabiano Ventura, director of On the Trail of Glaciers project.

“We have decided to continue supporting On the Traces of glaciers – Anna ferrino, Ad ferrino – for many reasons. The project is consistent with the environmental values of the company and in line with the actions of attention to the planet that we promote for years. The careful iconographic research that is at the base of the work of Fabiano Ventura, fascinates us in particular, because it captures often iconic alpine images that have accompanied the long journey of our company and in particular this project Alps 2020 speaks of our elective territory in a year for us extremely significant, The one of our 150th anniversary. I therefore believe that they are both excellent reasons to accompany the Alpine 2020 expedition with our clothing and technical equipment”.
