Outback 97 and mountain education

Outback 97 has been distributing top brand mountain clothing and equipment for thirty years. With its sports and professional divisions, the Bergamo-based company is able to meet the needs of stores and professional operators, but not only.

In fact, Outback 97 is committed to sponsoring and financing parallel projects, but always linked to the knowledge and promotion of the mountains, in order to train the experts of the future and guarantee a sustainable and innovative footprint on the territory.

Among the various initiatives, it makes available four scholarships to attend the advanced course Valorization of the cultural, landscape and environmental heritage of the mountains, offered by the University of Bergamo. The course serves to acquire the tools necessary to operate in an adequate and conscious manner in the management and valorization of the cultural, landscape and environmental assets of the internal mountain areas. In this way, Outback 97 promotes the education of future experts in the mountains, capable of enhancing and protecting them.

Another project is Young People for the Mountains (#Y4M), Young globetrotters traveling in the mountains of Lombardy. You can participate by filling out an electronic form and submitting a travel idea, the only prerequisite is to be under 30, and the best ones will be chosen from those received. An initiative that intends to look at sustainability, rurality and, more generally, the mountains, bringing young people closer to the internal mountain areas.

A final event supported by Outback 97 is Save the Mountains and their cultural heritage, the project of CAI Bergamo Education and Sustainability, to revive the Orobie Mountains. The purpose of the initiative is to support the traditional culture and a new culture of the mountain territories towards a zero footprint, that is, trying to be as sustainable as possible, within the global commitment of the United Nations 2030 Agenda which includes 17 goals for sustainable development of the Millennium.

In this way, Outback 97 underscores its philosophy of consistency and respect, offering users a variety of ways to educate themselves about the mountains. The Bergamo-based company also believes in continuous updating, which explains the reason for so many initiatives aimed at young people, from whom comes the strongest and most creative passion and who are the future of the mountains. Outback 97 not only sells products on the market, but offers direct experiences in the mountains and in the natural environment, in summer and winter.
