Patagonia Worn Wear Tour to the crags of Europe

Patagonia Worn Wear Tour to the crags of Europe – This spring, the repair team of
Patagonia
will be busy at crags and boulders across Europe for the Worn Wear Climb Tour 2024.

Two traveling repair workshops will travel to climbing destinations and festivals in France, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom. They will offer climbing enthusiasts free repairs of broken zippers, rips, buttons, pulls and more, as well as teach people how to repair their own equipment.

The Worn Wear initiative encourages customers to extend the life of their garments. Patagonia’s repair team will offer free repairs for any brand of clothing, on a first-come, first-served basis.

The two original repair vehicles were hand-built to be able to travel to the most difficult-to-reach places in Europe. They will house technical equipment for repairs and bring colorful patches and vibrancy to local communities. They will also instruct people on how to keep their equipment in good condition for multiple seasons and teach how to patch, waterproof shells, and fix zippers.

Why Worn Wear?

Patagonia’s answers:

  • Patagonia’s Worn Wear program was created in 2013 to encourage people to take care of their gear, washing and repairing it as needed.
  • Prolonging the life of our garments, through proper care and repair, is the most important thing we can do to reduce our impact on the planet and reduces the need to buy more over time, thus avoiding the CO2 emissions, waste generation and water use required to create them.
  • According to the British group WRAP, by keeping our clothing in use for only nine months longer, we can reduce our carbon footprint, waste and water by 20-30% each, simply because we produce and throw away less.
  • To increase repairs in Europe, Patagonia has partnered with the United Repair Centre and opened repair facilities in Amsterdam and London with the goal of fixing 100,000 garments per year by 2028.
