Nature, sustainability and comfort: Salewa introduces hemp in its summer collection

Salewa rides the wind of rebirth on the side of the environment, choosing hemp as the main material in some of its collections. Hemp, with its low environmental impact compared to cotton, offers properties of comfort, thermoregulation and durability. Salewa is part of a local network in the Alps that aims to bring hemp production back to the Alps, exploiting its properties not only in textiles. Alpine Hemp garments are the result of careful research and testing with professional mountaineers and athletes. Moreover, this fabric, being exceptionally soft, light and fluffy, provides a very pleasant feel on the skin and does not generate electrostatic charges.

Hemp does not require irrigation and pesticides, protects biodiversity and with its deep branching roots regenerates the soil.”
