Saucony x Hommewrk by Trinidad Jame$

The partnership between Saucony Originals and multi-platinum artist Trinidad Jame$ continues. To further seal the collaboration with the American fashion house, he has created a new version of the iconic Jazz 81.

A new drop for Saucony that celebrates the artist’s strong bond with his origins: a choice made by Trinidad Jame$ in the hope of continuing to explore new and different ways of expression, without ever forgetting his “starting point”.

The new Jazz 81 “Carnival Back” model is inspired by the first pair of trainers the artist bought once he arrived as an immigrant in the United States. The choice of color and the combination of materials are highly distinctive, as they seek to remain faithful to the original model, without forgetting the novelty: the sole in three different shades glows in the dark, the upper plays on shades of black, while the details feature a semi-transparent reinforcement on the toe cap. Many of the inserts play on the interval between fabrics and leathers, while the laces are available in different colors, including gold, the symbol color of Trinidad. An important detail is the gold embroidery under the tongue, representing a steel pan, a typical instrument of the island.

“Carnival is a tribute to the rich culture of Trinidad and Tobago – said Trinidad Jame$, founder of Hommewrk – The second colour story of my collaboration with Saucony came at the right time to be presented during Black History Month: the perfect opportunity to celebrate and ‘Do Your Hommewrk’ – as our motto reminds us – on another beautiful piece of history and heritage of my country”.
