SCARPA completes its Trail Youth Team Italy
SCARPA Trail Youth Team Italy has completed the selection of the six young under-21 talents who will participate in the international project already active in Spain, France and Switzerland.
Representing the Italian team, which aims to foster the growth of young Italian athletes and put them alongside the great champions, with the opportunity to meet and compare themselves with the athletes of the elite SCARPA team, will be: Anna Hofer, Enrico Rota Martir, Fabio Visintini, Marcello Scarinzi, Nicolò Lora Moretto and Noemi Bouchard.
These athletes, selected for their talent, commitment and passion for mountain running, will join the professionals in a series of events, races and experiences to discover who will be the next generation of trail running champions.
After an initial selection phase, the young hopefuls were involved in the first weekend of meetings (May 19 – 21) to get into the thick of the project. On Friday they visited SCARPA headquarters in Asolo, where they were welcomed by CEO Diego Bolzonello and President Sandro Parisotto. They had the opportunity to attend the presentation of the collection and, together with Marco De Gasperi, Emanuele Manzi and Elisa Desco, set goals for the upcoming season, fully immersing themselves in the atmosphere that characterizes the team.
On Saturday they were guests of the organizers of LimoneXtreme in Limone sul Garda, the event that this year will decide the winners of the Skyrunner World Series. During the event, they ran together and participated in photo sessions and team building activities. On Sunday they competed in the Garda Trentino Trail in Arco, covering a distance of 10 km, demonstrating their potential and achieving excellent results. In the men’s category, Niccolò Lora Moretto finished in 2nd place, followed by Marcello Scarinzi in 4th place, Enrico Rota Martir in 5th place and Fabio Visintini in 13th place. In the women’s category, Anna Hofer took 2nd place, while Noemi Bouchard placed 4th.
The season program for SCARPA Trail Youth Team Italy already includes a number of events that will test the skills and talents of young athletes. These include the LUT 10km (June 21), the Piz Tri Vertical in Malonno (July 14-16), the YCC by UTMB (Aug. 29-30), the San Martino di Castrozza (Sept. 16-17), the Vertical Chiavenna – Lagunch (Oct. 7) and the Limone VK (Oct. 28).
